What Bayside parents are saying

★★★★★

"My daughter was ready to quit basketball but after being coached by Cal, she has not only improved to the point where she has made the state program, she has also fallen in love with the game. He is a very encouraging person (sometimes maybe too much :) but this encouragement is highly effective at motivation which leads to improvement and most importantly; fun."

— Mike, Ex-U14 Rep Girls VC Parent (now 18.1s)

★★★★★

"My 11 yr old daughter has recently started doing 1 on 1 training sessions with Cal. She is obsessed with basketball and wanted to take her skills and game play to a new level. Cal has been working to further develop her pre-existing skills as well as provide her with a more advanced skill set to help her perform to a higher level as a bottom age player in U14s. The 1 on 1 sessions have been incredible, Cal has a natural ability as a coach and educator to teach, inspire and develop confidence, all the while making it fun. My daughter absolutely loves these 1 on 1 trainings with Cal. She spends the week talking about everything she has learnt and practicing it over and over again, counting down the days till she can show Cal at the next 1 on 1. Cal is an amazing mentor and I highly recommend his coaching to all."

— Wendy, 4 years with Cal - Parent

★★★★★

"Cal has coached both my kids for a number of years. He puts a high priority on developing individual skills as an athlete and in the psychological aspects of sports performance. Cal has real experience of elite sports performance through his own basketball career and brings a unique set of both coaching and mentoring skills because of it. He also relates incredibly well to kids of all ages which can’t be said for all basketball coaches. "

— Sam, Parent of 2 kids trained by Cal

Got questions?
Frequently asked questions
Club and school training focuses on the team. We focus entirely on the individual player — their specific weaknesses, their confidence, their game. That's why players who train with us consistently outperform their peers at rep trials. Small groups, expert coaches, and a structured plan that actually progresses week to week.
Most parents notice real changes in ball handling and confidence within 3–4 sessions. Our structured 8-week progression plan means every session builds on the last — so improvement compounds the longer they're with us. It's not random drills, it's a system that works.
Not at all. We welcome players at every level — from complete beginners to those chasing rep selection. We never put a child in a situation where they feel embarrassed or left behind. Small group sizes mean our coaches can always adjust the session to suit who's in the room.
That's exactly why we offer a free trial first — zero risk, zero pressure. Come in, give it a go, and see how your child responds. If it's not the right fit we'll tell you honestly rather than take your money. We're more interested in the right match than a quick sale.
Book a free trial and we'll take care of the rest. Cal will assess your child's current level in person and recommend the best program for their age, ability, and goals. There's no obligation and no pressure — just an honest conversation about what will help your child the most.
