Sessions are split into three age-specific groups — U12s (9:30am), U14s (11:30am) and U14/U16 Advanced (1:00pm). Each group works on what they actually need at that stage of development — not generic drills. The progressions are built around age, strength, growth stage and current skill level, so your child is never being pushed through material that isn't right for where they're at.
Yes — every group has its own curriculum. U12s focus on mastering the fundamentals: elbow alignment, hand placement, base and balance, jump stop on the catch, follow through and rhythm off the dribble. U14s move into fluid one-motion shooting, rhythm and repeatability, adjusting mechanics as the body grows and safely introducing three-point range. The U14/U16 Advanced group focuses on translating shooting into game situations — advanced footwork into shots, shooting off movement, game-speed decision making, rhythm under pressure and developing a reliable three-point shot.
Every group is capped at a maximum of 6 players. This means coaches can give real feedback on every rep — not just rebound and move on. Once a group fills, registrations close. No exceptions.
Players who register for all 4 sessions get access to 2 supervised Dr Dish Shooting Bay sessions per week for the entire Term 3 — that's 30 minutes per session. Over the course of a term that can add up to 5,000+ extra shots compared to teammates who aren't putting in that extra work. This bonus is valued at $550 and is included free with a 4-session registration.
All sessions are held at 2 Hewitt St, Cheltenham and run for 90 minutes each. Week 1 runs Monday 29th June through Thursday 2nd July. Week 2 runs Monday 6th July through Thursday 9th July. You can book 1, 2 or all 4 sessions depending on your availability and goals.
Volume without correct mechanics just reinforces bad habits. Most players aren't held back by effort — they're held back by inconsistent or incorrect foundations. Whether it's never being taught the right mechanics, rushing into shooting threes too early, or body growth that mechanics haven't kept up with, team training rarely has time to address these things individually. By U16s it becomes very hard to fix. This program is specifically about building or correcting shooting the right way, at the right stage.
No. Club training focuses on the team — plays, defence, game preparation. There's rarely time to stop and fix an individual player's shooting mechanics. This program is entirely focused on your child's shot — the foundations, the feel, the footwork and the ability to shoot at game speed. These are individual skills that club training simply doesn't have the time or structure to develop properly.
