BLACKTOP is Bayside's first graded 3x3 basketball tournament where levels are matched, every team gets at minimum 5 guaranteed games, and winners take home a share of a $1,000 prize pool. Presented by Basketball Mentors and Bluesky Athletics — this is competitive basketball done properly.

What Makes BLACKTOP Different

Most 3x3 basketball tournaments in Melbourne are ungraded, poorly organised and leave teams waiting hours between games. BLACKTOP was designed from the ground up to be the opposite of that — a competitive, well-run event where every team gets value from every minute of their day.

Tournament Format

BLACKTOP uses a professional tournament structure that ensures every team gets maximum game time and competitive matchups throughout the day:

• Pool Play: All teams play in pools of 3. Each team plays 2 games, seeded by result.
• Quarter-Finals: Top teams from each pool advance based on seedings
• Semi-Finals: Champ and Consolation brackets — every team keeps playing
• Grand Final: Championship Final and Consolation Final — both get prize money
• Prizes: Trophy and share of $1,000 prize pool for Championship winners and runners-up

How to Register

Teams of 4 register together online. Cost is $150 per team ($37.50 per player) — one of the most affordable competitive tournament entries in Melbourne given the prize money and game volume on offer.
